PHD Course and Workshop 2012

Welcome to a Ph.D. course on systems biology and systems medicine. The course is divided in the following four parts:- Nov 26-27, Systems biology methodologies: basic introduction to modelling for beginners, and advanced methods for experienced modellers
- Nov 28-30, Multi-level modelling of type 2 diabetes, part 1: Whole-body aspects and an adipose tissue module
- Dec 1-3, Workshop on systems medicine: Network methods; Model-based approaches to diagnosis and drug development; Modelling for improved liver diagnosis
- Dec 4-6, Multi-level modelling of type 2 diabetes, part 2: Liver, Muscle, and Pancreas
All 4 parts may be attended separately, and give 1.5 ECTs each, implies 6 ECTs for all four parts. All parts are open for both experimentalists, doctors, biologists etc, who have never worked with systems biology or modelling before, as well as to experienced modellers.
Examination is in the form of studying papers, attending lectures, giving an own lecture, and performing a self-designed mixture of computer exercises and a course-related but self-designed little mini-project.
