Doing an internship

If you are interesting with doing an internship with us, it is often possible. Below, we have listed some specific information to different groups of students that we have previously often done internships with. However, even if you do not belong to one such group, we will most likely still be interested in doing a project together.

The internships can range from being part of a course, to an independent project. Here, we call all forms of project work that is not a thesis work, and that lasts for a longer period, an "internship" for simplicity

Students at Linköping university

Engineering biology (TB) and chemical biology (KB)

We regularly have students from TB/KB doing internships with us. In fact, most PhD students within the group have previously done an internship with us. For students at LiU, we can offer a "research preparatory course" for which you can get credits, CSN, and sometimes also scholarships.

Typically, the projects done by TB/KB students involve developing mathematical models, similar to what is done in the introductory course and in the bachelor's thesis.

K8-students

We have had multiple medical doctor students who have done their K8-projects with us. Typically, K8-students have done interviews with doctors and patients, often focussed on how e-health applications such as the use of digital twins can be used and is perceived by doctors and patients. Some K8-students have also developed mathematical models.

PUM students

PUM students have been a major contributor to the software that underpin our digital twins. We have had a PUM project yearly for the last couple of years. Typically, the PUM students do software development, either/or backend and frontend.

International internships

French students

We also regularly have internship students from France. We have had students from Clermont Auvergne University,

Typically, the internship students from France have been working with software development for our digital twins.

Dutch students

We have previously had students from Eindhoven who have done mathematical modelling projects.
