Making nice figures in MATLAB

Changing figures

There are two main ways you can go about to change your figures to look nicer:

1. Plot your figure first, and then make changes through the property inspector (Edit>Figure properties in the figure window), or
2. Change the code for how you plot. This way, your figure will look like you want them to every time you run your plot scripts.

Some things that you can do to make your figure look nicer and easier to understand:

• Increase the linewidth (2 or 3 is usually good).
• Add a legend describing the different lines in your plot.
• Change the font and fontsize.
• Changing line style, so that lines can be distinguished without color.
